I’m Lady Peta Young, a multi-genre author, lifelong learner, and passionate gardener. Writing isn’t just something I do, it’s a reflection of everything I am. From crafting haunting horror tales (because let’s be honest, murder in real life is illegal!) to developing thought-provoking legislation from a citizen’s perspective, my pen moves with both imagination and intention.

My Roots and Heritage

I’m on a deeply personal journey to learn more about Ireland, the birthplace of my 3rd great-grandmother. It’s more than just genealogy, it’s about keeping her spirit alive through knowledge, culture, and connection. One of my greatest dreams is to move to Ireland, to walk the same land where she was born and raised, and to continue her story through my own life and writing.

Why I Write in So Many Genres

People often ask me why I write across genres, from horror and poetry to political campaigns and educational content. My answer is simple: life is an adventure worth pursuing. Each genre gives me a new way to explore the human condition, to educate, to entertain, and to challenge the world around me. Writing is my way of breathing life into ideas, turning thoughts into stories, and passion into action.

A Life of Learning and Creating

When I’m not writing, you’ll likely find me with my hands in the soil. Gardening keeps me grounded, literally and spiritually. I also make my own natural medicines, blending nature’s wisdom with care and intention.

As a homeschooling parent of four incredible children with complex disabilities, I write all of our learning units myself. It’s both a challenge and a gift, the opportunity to create education that truly fits each child’s unique needs. I also love helping other parents who are navigating similar paths, offering guidance, resources, and encouragement.

Beyond the Page

My creative world doesn’t end with novels. I write poetry, songs, raps, animations, and screenplays, and I illustrate my own work. I pour myself into every project, whether it’s a horror short, a political speech, a fundraising campaign, or a heartfelt piece of poetry.

Each word I write has a purpose: to inspire, to educate, to challenge, or to heal. Because in the end, writing, like life, is about growth, connection, and leaving something meaningful behind.
